Zach Scheidt is the Editor of Hedge Fund Strategist and Velocity Trader, two of Insiders Strategy Group’s financial research newsletters. Zach is able to draw on his decade of experience as a hedge fund manager to determine which companies would be the most profitable to invest in. Zach’s experience has given him the skills to manage sizeable investments of a number of private investment partners and develop advanced investment strategies to make the highest returns possible. Zach is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder. The CFA is an international professional designation offered by the CFA Institute to financial analysts. To become a CFA Charterholder, one must pass three six-hour long exams, possess a bachelor’s degree, and have 48 months of work experience in an investment decision-making position, such as a portfolio manager and consultant to other managers, as Zach has been. In order to survive, and thrive, you have to change your investing style. You need proven methods that work regardless of what is happening in the economy. With Hedge Fund Strategist, a premium trading research service, Zach takes your investment portfolio to a whole new level. Instead of being tied to traditional stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, you will engage in cutting-edge opportunities... rare, exotic and mysterious opportunities that make hedge funds -- and their clients -- very rich. Zach draws from his years of financial expertise as a hedge fund manager, looking for unique trading opportunities. Instead of betting on an individual stock to fall, you are betting that a sector of the market will fall, and you make money when it does. For Velocity Trader, Zach carefully scans thousands of stocks, looking for companies that have the potential for huge stock price moves. He then uses option trading contracts that are designed to work exponentially and create opportunities for significant wealth to magnify the gains on these opportunities. Zach also uses his skills to help investors develop a portfolio of short-term trades with the goal of creating maximum gains. He comments on the degree of safety involved so that investors can determine for themselves how much they are willing to risk. Velocity Trader is an aggressive options trading service that aims for exceptional gains in both rising and falling global stock markets. Zach enjoys his work because it gives him the opportunity to research, write and receive feedback on financial opportunities that he is interested in and excited about. He has been able to make his passion into his career. It also gives him the flexibility he needs to write, invest and spend time with his growing family, which consists of his wife and six children, in their home in a suburb of Atlanta. Get to Know Zach ScheidtWhat is a hot sector for 2011? The world is demanding more energy as emerging markets grow. Traditional energy (primarily oil) will take a backseat to alternative and cleaner choices such as nuclear, solar and natural gas. We're likely to see a significant shortage in uranium -- which is good news for producers of this resource. Also, China is quickly expanding its solar capacity, which means strong business for top-tier solar manufacturers. What is one thing an investor should consider when picking a stock? This year, there will be major risks in terms of governmental policies (both domestic and international). When I pick a stock, I'm considering what effect rising geopolitical risk could have on the position. In many cases, there are opportunities that actually benefit from these political shifts. What do you like to do in your free time? Wow, between conducting market research and being a father of six, there's not too much free time. I'm an avid reader and also try to run or play basketball a few times each week. I'm also a bit of an aviation buff with a particular interest in old WWII-era planes. What profession other than yours would you like to attempt? I wouldn't mind being a bush pilot, flying a "real" prop plane in to and out of remote airstrips. That kind of adventure would be a lot of fun. Being a poker pro might be another idea. I love the challenge of mixing math and statistics with human uncertainties... Not too different from trading markets! |
